Resumen
La salud mental se ha visto tradicionalmente adscrita a un modelo patogénico más propio del saber experto de la medicina que de lo social. Así, desde el trabajo social hemos considerado pertinente ampliar ese horizonte explicativo con anotaciones propias de la disciplina, mediante un compendio de reflexiones destinadas a repensar la práctica profesional.
Ello tiene por objeto buscar un acoplamiento adecuado entre el concepto de salud mental y la propia praxis. Dicha reflexión ha de servirnos también para comprender la desigualdad incardinada en la problemática específica de los trastornos mentales. Igualmente, entendemos esencial el concepto de estigma según Goffman (1963), seguido de una serie de conclusiones abiertas a futuras líneas de investigación.
Ello tiene por objeto buscar un acoplamiento adecuado entre el concepto de salud mental y la propia praxis. Dicha reflexión ha de servirnos también para comprender la desigualdad incardinada en la problemática específica de los trastornos mentales. Abstract
Mental health has traditionally been attached to a pathogenic model that is more within the expertise of medical professionals than that of professionals in the social sphere. In the field of social work we believe it would be useful to broaden this explanatory level with notes specifically from this discipline. To do so we offer a compendium of reflections on professional practice in this sphere.
This will help establish a more suitable connection between mental health issues and social work. The reflections will also be useful in understanding the inequality which is an integral part of the specific problem of mental health disorders. We also address another issue we believe to be essential, the concept of stigma according to Goffman (1963). This is followed by a series of conclusions open to future lines of research.
