Bullying homofóbico en el contexto mexicano: voces desde estudiantes de trabajo social regiomontanos

Resumen
El bullying homofóbico es el acoso escolar, hostigamiento o abuso basado en la homofobia y el rechazo al colectivo LGTBI que acontece en el entorno escolar por parte uno o varios alumnos/as hacia otro compañero/a, de forma reactiva, a través de violencia física, verbal, gesticular y/o tecnológica. No existiendo investigaciones empíricas precedentes en el contexto mexicano se plantea una investigación cuantitativa con el objetivo de identificar la existencia de bullying LGTBI-fóbico y sus características en 150 estudiantes de trabajo social de la UANL. Los resultados revelan que el 98,67 % de la muestra reconoce haber presenciado bullying homofóbico en su entorno escolar, el 33,33 % se identifica como agresor/a y el 50 % de las personas LGTBI como víctimas. Es por ello que se considera necesario proponer una reflexión, realizar actividades preventivas y formativas sobre la diversidad sexual, así como la creación de observatorios de violencia homofóbica y de una ley integral de lucha contra la LGTBI-fobia en los entornos educativos.

Abstract
Homophobic bullying is harassment or mistreatment based on homophobia - the rejection of the LGTBI community - that takes place at school by one or various students toward another student/s, reactively, through physical, verbal, gesticular and/or technological violence. There being no empirical research on this topic in Mexico to date, a quantitative research project was undertaken with the aim of identifying the existence of LGTBI-phobic bullying and its characteristics in 150 social work students at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. As for the results, 98.67 % of the sample acknowledged that they have witnessed homophobic bullying at school, 33.33 % of the sample identified themselves as the aggressor and 50 % of the LGTBI population in the sample identified themselves as victims. For this reason it is necessary to encourage reflection on the topic, to carry out preventive and educational activities about sexual diversity, to create observatories on homophobic violence and to develop a comprehensive law against LGTBI-phobia in educational centres.
